Paired Painting
Construction of the Rama Setu Bridge
This exquisite painting captures a pivotal moment from the Ramayana, where the divine Prince Rama and his brother Lakshmana oversee the vanara army as they build a bridge across the ocean to Lanka. The scene hums with tireless devotion, showing the monkey warriors placing stone after stone with the name of Rama inscribed upon them, which allows the rocks to float upon the turbulent waves. It is a testament to the power of faith, illustrating the collaborative spirit of the celestial army as they prepare to rescue Sita, and it serves as a meditative reminder that even the most impossible obstacles can be overcome through unified purpose and divine grace.
