Kagzi Nav Par Ghar Chalate Rahe
6 verses · ~1 min

Benaras at the Golden Gate
Eric Kipps captures the eternal vibrancy of the sacred city of Varanasi, known historically as Benaras, through the discerning eyes of a foreign visitor during the colonial era. The artwork pulsates with life as boats cluster densely along the holy waters of the Ganges, shaded by traditional umbrellas that create a mesmerizing mosaic of humanity and commerce. Towering stone ghats and ancient temple spires rise majestically in the background, standing as silent witnesses to centuries of devotion, ritual, and spiritual seeking. Kipps employs an impressionistic palette of rich earth tones and brilliant blues, rendering the shimmering light on the water with profound reverence for the timeless rhythms of this holy sanctuary.
