बहुत छोटी जगह है घर जिसमें इन दिनों इजाज़त है मुझे

चलने फिरने की फिर भी बड़ी गुंजाइश है इसमें

तूफानों के घिरने की कभी बच्चे लड़ पड़ते हैं

कभी खड़क उठते हैं गुस्से से उठाये-धरे जाने वाले बर्तन घर में रहने वाले सात जनों के मन

लगातार सात मिनिट भी निश्चिंत नहीं रहते

कुछ-न-कुछ हो जाता है हर एक के मन को थोड़ी-थोड़ी ही देर में मगर

तूफ़ानों के इस फेर में पड़कर भी छोटी यह जगह

मेरे चलने फिरने लायक बराबर बनी रहती है

यों झुकी रहती है किसी की आँख भृकुटी किसी की तानी रहती है मगर सदस्य सब रहते हैं मन-ही-मन एक-दूसरे के प्रति

मेरे सुख की गति इसलिए अव्याहत है

कुंठित नहीं होती इस छोटी जगह में जिसे

घर कहते हैं और सिर्फ जहाँ इन दिनों

चलने फिरने की इजाज़त है मुझे!
