धुंधला है चन्द्रमा सोया है मैदान घास का ओढ़े हुए धुंधली–सी चाँदनी

और गंध घास की फैली है मेरे आसपास और जहाँ तक जाता हूँ वहां तक

चादर चाँदनी की आज मैली है यों उजली है वो घास की इस गंध की अपेक्षा हरहराते घास के इस छन्द की अपेक्षा

मन अगर भारी है कट जायेगी आज की भी रात कल की रात की तरह जब आंसू टपक रहे हैं कल की तरह लदे वृक्षों के फल की तरह और मैं हल्का हो रहा हूँ आज का रहकर भी कल का हो रहा हूँ
