चींटी को देखा? वह सरल, विरल, काली रेखा तम के तागे सी जो हिल-डुल, चलती लघु पद पल-पल मिल-जुल, यह है पिपीलिका पाँति! देखो ना, किस भाँति काम करती वह सतत, कन-कन कनके चुनती अविरत।
गाय चराती, धूप खिलाती, बच्चों की निगरानी करती लड़ती, अरि से तनिक न डरती, दल के दल सेना संवारती, घर-आँगन, जनपथ बुहारती।
चींटी है प्राणी सामाजिक, वह श्रमजीवी, वह सुनागरिक। देखा चींटी को? उसके जी को? भूरे बालों की सी कतरन, छुपा नहीं उसका छोटापन, वह समस्त पृथ्वी पर निर्भर विचरण करती, श्रम में तन्मय वह जीवन की तिनगी अक्षय।
वह भी क्या देही है, तिल-सी? प्राणों की रिलमिल झिलमिल-सी। दिनभर में वह मीलों चलती, अथक कार्य से कभी न टलती।
