भारत माता ग्रामवासिनी। खेतों में फैला है श्यामल धूल भरा मैला सा आँचल, गंगा यमुना में आँसू जल, मिट्टी कि प्रतिमा उदासिनी।

दैन्य जड़ित अपलक नत चितवन, अधरों में चिर नीरव रोदन, युग युग के तम से विषण्ण मन, वह अपने घर में प्रवासिनी।

तीस कोटि संतान नग्न तन, अर्ध क्षुधित, शोषित, निरस्त्र जन, मूढ़, असभ्य, अशिक्षित, निर्धन, नत मस्तक तरु तल निवासिनी!

स्वर्ण शस्य पर -पदतल लुंठित, धरती सा सहिष्णु मन कुंठित, क्रन्दन कंपित अधर मौन स्मित, राहु ग्रसित शरदेन्दु हासिनी।

चिन्तित भृकुटि क्षितिज तिमिरांकित, नमित नयन नभ वाष्पाच्छादित, आनन श्री छाया-शशि उपमित, ज्ञान मूढ़ गीता प्रकाशिनी!

सफल आज उसका तप संयम, पिला अहिंसा स्तन्य सुधोपम, हरती जन मन भय, भव तम भ्रम, जग जननी जीवन विकासिनी।
