तुम्हारे लिये चांद का यह निकलना पुतलियों में फँसी हवा का निकलना था जहाँ रोशनी थी हरियाली थी और एक ऐसी आर्द्रता थी जो तुम्हारे प्रेम से भारी थी और भरी हुई
निकला हुआ चांद गाजीपुर की चांदनी से मुझे बेपर्दा कर रहा था और मै बनारस की बरसात में भींग रहा था
चांद आज हमारे लिये उस चकवा की तरह है जहाँ सिर्फ़ रात है
मुझे इस चंद्रमा के गुज़र जाने का इंतज़ार होगा तुमसे व सिर्फ़ तुमसे मिलने के लिये ।
