जल रहे हैं ढाक के वन लाल फूलों के अँगारों से दहकते! हहरती वनराजि, तुम आये वसन्त सिंगार सज कर, पुष्प-बाणों को चढाये! मन्द,शीतल और सुरभित पवन बहता दहकते अंगीर दूने, सुलगता है प्रकृति का उर! पीत सुमनों की लपट क्षिति से उठी है, लाल लाल प्रसून ये अंगार जलते, हरे वृक्षों की सलोनी गोद में रह रह सुलगते! लाज अरुणिम कोंपलें, शृंगार सारे दहक से भर, झुलस जाते तितलियों के मन, भ्रमर कुछ गुनगुनाते छेड जाते! ये दहकते फूल अपने रूप की ज्वाला सँजोये, छू जिसे तन हहरता, मन भी सिहरता, मुस्कराता लाज भीना मुग्ध आनन!
ओ मधुर मधुमास! तुम आये कि जागा शिथिल सा मन, इस धरा का अरुण यौवन जल रहा है! जल रहे हैं लाल लाल अँगार तरु पर वल्लियों में और वन मे, ये हरे तन, ये हरे मन ये हरे वन जल रहे हैं! सुलगता सा अलस यौवन! पंचशर लेकर किया संधान कैसा पुष्प धन्वा, सघन शीतल कुञ्ज भी ले लाल नव पल्लव सुलगते, प्रकृति के तन और मन मे आग सुलगी आ गये हो धरा का सोया हुआ यौवन जगाने के लिये! ढाल दीं उन्माद मदिरा की छलकती प्यालियाँ, जड और चेतन को बना उन्मत्त, कर निर्बाध चंचल, अल्हड बनीं-सी डोलतीं साँसें पवन मे!
