आज ही तो सत्य है, जो कल गया, वह था विनश्वर, आज ही तो नित्य है, जो आ रहा कल वह अनिश्चित! आज ही है एक सीमा, युगयुगों तक के कलों की, आज ही सीमा बना, बीते भविष्यत् के छलों की!
कल गया वह तो गया पर आज मेरे हाथ मे है, कल अभी तो दूर है पर आज मेरे साथ मे हैं! आज जो कुछ मिल गया, वह हो गया मेरा सदा को, भाग है उसमें न मेरा आज में ही खो गया जो!
आज है बस इसलिये कल था इसे मैं मानती हूँ आज आया इसलिये कल का ठिकाना जानती हूँ! आज जो होता न तो अस्तित्व क्या होता युगों का, आज मे ढल गया है रूप सदियों के कलों का!
वही सच है जिन्दगी में आज जो कुछ चल रहा है, ढल गये कल तो कभी के, आज कब से चल रहा है! भूत बन जाता भविष्यत् आज में ही स्वत्व खो कर, आज तो चलता रहेगा, नित नया, नित प्रखर हो कर!
आज है कितना पुराना, किन्तु यह कितना नया है, मिल चलेगा कल, कि कल भी तो इसी में मिल गया है! आज मै हूँ, इसलिये पहचानती हूँ कौन हूँ नैं! आज पाया है तभी कल के लिये बेचैन हूँ मै!
आज है प्रत्यक्ष, कल तो रह गया केवल कहानी, आज मे ही है विलय कल .आज ही कल की निशानी! जो मिले वह आज ले लूँ,जो करूँ वह आज कर लूँ, खोजती कल को फिरूँ क्यों आज को स्वीकार कर लूँ!
