Sri Chaitanya and Nityananda Leading a Sankirtana Procession

This deeply moving artwork captures the sublime ecstasy of the sankirtana movement initiated by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in sixteenth century Bengal. Alongside his close companion Nityananda Prabhu, Chaitanya leads a jubilant procession of devotees, their arms raised high in ecstatic devotion as they chant the holy names. The atmosphere is thick with spiritual fervor, depicted through vibrant banners, blossoming flower petals scattered on the earth, and the divine radiance emanating from the central figures. This sacred tradition transformed spiritual life by making the love of God accessible to all through collective singing and dancing, completely transcending rigid social barriers.
