दूर से दूर तलक एक भी दरख्त न था| तुम्हारे घर का सफ़र इस क़दर सख्त न था।
इतने मसरूफ़ थे हम जाने के तैयारी में, खड़े थे तुम और तुम्हें देखने का वक्त न था।
मैं जिस की खोज में ख़ुद खो गया था मेले में, कहीं वो मेरा ही एहसास तो कमबख्त न था।
जो ज़ुल्म सह के भी चुप रह गया न ख़ौल उठा, वो और कुछ हो मगर आदमी का रक्त न था।
उन्हीं फ़क़ीरों ने इतिहास बनाया है यहाँ, जिन पे इतिहास को लिखने के लिए वक्त न था।
शराब कर के पिया उस ने ज़हर जीवन भर, हमारे शहर में 'नीरज' सा कोई मस्त न था।
