हर मौसम फ़ागुन के रंगों में रंग लिया भावनाऒ ने एक तुम्हारी छवि नयनों ने भित्तिचित्र कर कर टांकी है

अगवानी को आज पंथ पर पांखुर बन कर बिछीं निगाहें पगरज को सिन्दूर बना लेने को आतुर हैं सब राहें कौआ चांदी नित्य भोर से छतें लगीं हैं आज सजाने रुकी हुइ पुरबाई पथ में, स्वागत करने फ़ैला बाहें

रजनी जाना नहीं चाहती, थकी प्रतीची उसे बुलाते हो अधीर मुड़ मुड़ देखा है, राह तुम्हारी ही ताकी है

सुरभित आशायें प्राची को लगीं और लज्जानत करने रंग अलक्तक के पांवों पर, लगे और कुछ अधिक उभरने करने लगा बात बुन्दों से झूम झूम माथे का टीका चन्द्रहार के माणिक मन की हर धड़कन को आये सुनने

सजने लगे अचानक सारे क्षण अनजाने ही कुछ ऐसे स्वयं पी रही प्याले भर भर, सुधियों की पागल साकी है

मिलते स्पर्श तुम्हारा होगी मेंहदी से रंगीन हथेली अँगनाई में अँगड़ाई लेगी आ आ कर भोर नवेली कंगन के साजों पर चूड़ी छेड़ेगी नव मेघ मल्हारें पुरबाई बाँहों में भर कर मुझे बनेगी नई सहेली

जागी हुई कल्पना आकर भरती मुझको मधुपाशों में उम्र प्रतीक्षा वाली निशि की और नहीं ज्यादा बाकी है
