स्वप्न आंखें सजाती रहीं रात भर, चांदनी रात की चूनरी के तले पर उगी भोर की दस्तकों से सभी, बन के सिंदूर नभ में बिखरते रहे

तारे पलकों पे बैठे रहे रात भर, आने वालों का स्वागत सजाए हुए ओस बन कर टपकते रहे राग सब, चांद के होंठ पर गुनगुनाए हुए थाम कर चांदनी की कलाई हवा, मन के गलियारे में नृत्य करती रही कामना एक बन आस्था चल पड़ी आस पी के मिलन की लगाए हुए

सात घोड़ों के रथ बैठ आई उषा, एक संदूकची थाम कर हाथ में जिसके दपर्ण की परछाइयां थाम कर रंग सातों गगन पर संवरते रहे

पग की पाजेब के बोल कुछ बोल कर, थे गुजाते रहे एक चौपाल को रुख़ कड़े घंटियों के सुरों के मगर, न सफ़ल हो जगा पाए घडि़याल को थरथरा थरथरा दीप तुलसी तले, सांझ से पूर्व् ही थक गया सो गया रह गया एक पीपल अचंभित खड़ा, होना क्या था मगर क्या से क्या हो गया

रोज़ लाता रहा दिन, कभी सांझ ने, अपने केशों में गजरे लगाए नहीं मोतिया जूही चंपा चमेली सभी, रोज़ किलयों की तरह चटखते रहे
