Draupadi Presented to the Pachisi Game
This profound chromolithograph captures one of the most heartbreaking yet spiritually triumphant moments in the Mahabharata. Queen Draupadi, having been lost in a malicious game of dice by her husbands the Pandavas, stands alone in the royal court, confronted by the aggressive Dushasana. As her modesty is brutally challenged, her hands are raised in desperate supplication to the divine, symbolizing the ultimate surrender to cosmic grace. Through the vibrant printing techniques of the Ravi Varma Press, this visual narrative became a household icon of devotion, reminding generations of the unwavering protection that divine intervention offers to the righteous in moments of deepest despair.
