रोज़ रात को तीन बजे एक ट्रेन मेरे दिल पर से गुज़रती है और एक शहर मेरे अन्दर जाग कर सो जाता है कहीं दूर से एक आवाज़ आती है एक चाँद छपाक से पानी में कूद कर अँधेरे में खो गया है समुद्र का शोर लहरें गिनने में असमर्थ हो गया है दिन के टुकड़े और रात की धज्जियों को गिनना असम्भव है मेरे लिए सिर्फ एक ख़ुशबू गुनगुनाती फिर रही है अभी भी- 'सरे राह चलते-चलते' ख़ुशबू ठहर गई है और एक सूरज और एक शहर की आँखों में समुन्दर उतर आए हैं!

अब भी रोज़ रात को एक ट्रेन मेरे दिल से गुजरती है और एक कला की देवी अपनी कला को अमृत पिला जाती है ठीक उसी समय!
