स्वप्न की झील में तैरता मन का यह सुकोमल कमल

चंद्रिका-स्नात मधु रात में हो हमारा-तुम्हारा मिलन दूर जैसे क्षितिज के परे झुक रहा हो धरा पर गगन

घास के मखमली वक्ष पर मोतियों की लड़ी हो तरल

प्यार का फूल तो खिल गया तुम इसे रूप, रस, गंध दो शब्द तो मिल गए गीत को तुम इसे ताल, स्वर, छंद दो

मंद, मादक स्वरों में सजी बाँसुरी की धुनें हों सरल

मौन इतना मुखर हो उठे जो हृदय-पुस्तिका खोल दे और जब एकरसता बढ़े भावना ही स्वयं बोल दे

इस तरह मन बहलता रहे सर्जनाएँ सदा हों सफल

पास भी दूर भी हम रहें ज़िन्दगी किन्तु हँसती रहे मान-मनुहार की, प्यार की याद प्राणों को कसती रहे

इस तरह चिर पिपासा मिटे और छलकता रहे स्नेह-जल
