कहाँ से कहाँ तक चलकर कहीं भी न पहुँचने का नाम मेरे लिए यात्रा है और जैसे नींद में चलते रहने का नाम जीवन । रास्ते की भीड़ जुलूस और उत्सव की चहल-पहल पिता के रौब से सहमे बच्चे की तरह मुझे डिस्टर्ब नहीं करते बस-ट्रेन स्कूल-दफ़्तर और घर से जुडी कुछ छोटी पद-यात्राओं का एक बहुत बड़ा नाम है 'दिन' । तुम्हारी याद भी सो जाती है थक कर चेतना के द्वार पर पहुँच कर दस्तक देने से पहले ही । सुबह-शाम दूध माँगने और हाज़िरी लेने वाली बच्ची बड़ी हो कर कुछ कवियों-पत्रकारों और आलोचकों में बदल गई है । पुस्तकों-पत्रिकाओं के ढेर से निकल कर 'गुमशुदा की तलाश' के विज्ञापन में सबसे पहले छपा नाम मेरा है मेरा ....... ।
