कौन सा पथ है? मार्ग में आकुल – अधीरातुर बटोही यों ही पुकारा कौन सा पथ है? महाजन जिस ओर जाएं - शास्त्र हुंकारा अंतरात्मा ले चले जिस ओर – बोला न्याय पंडित साथ आओ सर्वसाधारण जनों के – क्रांति वाणी। पर महाजन - मार्ग - गमोचित न संबल है, न रथ है, अंतरात्मा अनिश्चय – संशय – ग्रसित, क्रांति - गति – अनुसरण – योग्या है न पद सामर्थ्य। कौन सा पथ है? मार्ग में आकुल – अधीरातुर बटोही यों ही पुकारा कौन सा पथ है?

Bharat Bhushan Agarwal was a cornerstone of the Prayogvaad or Experimentalist movement in Hindi literature. Born in 1919 in Mathura, he emerged as a vital voice in the famous Tar Saptak anthology compiled by Agyeya. Agarwal refused to let modern poetry become overly solemn or disconnected from daily life. He possessed a brilliant command over satire, using it to dissect middle class hypocrisies and bureaucratic absurdities with sharp wit. However, his work also harbored a deep underlying sensitivity to the human condition. His collection Utna Vah Suraj Hai earned him the Sahitya Akademi Award posthumously in 1976, shortly after his death in 1975. He was a poet who could make readers laugh at the absurdities of the system in one stanza and reflect deeply on existential loneliness in the next.
