चकवा हम 'चन्द्र सरोवर' के, मथुरा के मलंग धड़ाम के हैं। गुन-आगरे, आगरे में हू रहे, नहीं बावरे हैं, कछु काम के हैं। ना मुसाहिब काहू अमीर के हैं, ना गुलाम किसी गुलफाम के हैं। नहीं खास के हैं, हम आम के हैं, हम तो जगजीवन राम के हैं।
हम वाहक मोद-विनोद के हैं, अरु गाहक पान-किमाम के हैं। गुन-आगरी नागरी पै हैं डटे, नहीं धौंस के हैं, न सलाम के हैं। दिल्ली में रहैं, दिल थाम के हैं, कविता के, कला के, कलाम के हैं। कवि 'व्यास' सखा घनश्याम के हैं, बलहीन नहीं, बलराम के हैं।
